KMP Interiors offers complete residential design services including:
Creating Color Palettes for the Home
As a certified color consultant, Karen can select the paint colors for just a room in your home or for your entire home, including the exterior. Creating a color palette can also include selecting the fabrics for upholstered pieces, window treatments, artwork and accessories to give your home a seamless flow. If you’re challenged by an open floor plan and where to start and stop colors, this is the service for you.
This involves creating to-scale drawings of the space(s) in the home. When starting from scratch in designing a room, we recommend this as the first step so the homeowner can see the traffic flow patterns, the size of the furnishings and how the room might relate to adjoining spaces. Space planning is also an excellent tool for creating a budget for the room. Once you can see the furnishings needed to meet the room requirements, you know what pieces of furniture are needed and can start assigning budget allowances to each item.
Specifications of Building Materials – New Construction or Renovation
The number of choices when building or remodeling a home can be overwhelming to most homeowners. KMP Interiors takes the stress out of the process. We are able to source, price, select and purchase all finishes for a home including tile, carpet, plumbing and lighting fixtures, appliances, flooring, hardware and any other materials necessary to construct the home.
It’s extremely important to KMP Interiors that the furnishings selected for a client’s home reflect the unique personality of the client. The process is collaborative, ensuring the home reflects the client’s taste and personality, not the designers. The style of the furniture, artwork, area rugs and lighting when combined in the optimal way is ultimately what gives each space it’s own character. Using the homeowner’s personal collections or photographs is also something we love to do. We are able to specify and purchase all furnishings. Through our relationships with vendors (yes, even retail stores) we are often able to save the homeowner money on these purchases.
Liaison with Contractors, Architects, Subs
There are many trades involved when building or remodeling a home and KMP Interiors can act as the facilitator of communication between among the trades and homeowner to ensure that the homeowner’s wishes are executed and that the design elements are implemented.
